Commission Sponsors Workshop at 2007 Synod Assembly.
At the 2007 Synod Assembly, the Ecumenical Commission sponsored a workshop titled Confessing Our Faith Together. The title comes from a draft document of the same name that presents a proposal for establishing full communion between the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the United Methodist Church. Two Methodist ministers participated in the workshop, the Reverend Joanne Brown, Pastor of United Church in University Place and the Reverend Beryl Ingram, Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Bellevue. Pastor Brown serves a joint United Methodist-United Church of Christ congregation and has taught church history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and at Seattle University. Pastor Ingram serves on the national commission for worship of the United Methodist Church. Both discussed their work and ministry and responded to questions from workshop participants.
