WORSHIP

Worship will be a bit different this year. Elements of our traditional worship service will be found woven throughout our time together. It will be a continuous worship that unfolds across the entire two days of the synod assembly, trusting that every moment and every person is sacred. Worship is the "work of the people," so we hold reverence for every prayer, conversation, shared meal, resolution, budget, and vote as acts of faithfulness and love. We are all woven into God’s story. Together, we will be co-creating holy space in every breath of our time together.

OFFERING AT ASSEMBLY

Thank you in advance for being generous with your gifts – perhaps even taking up an offering in your congregation prior to assembly. The offering gathered at assembly worship services will be divided equally among these ministries:

  • Lutheran Disaster Response
  • Bishop's Caring Fund - supports health and well-being of rostered leaders and candidates
  • The Synod's LiVE Project - lay ministry formation
  • Synod Emerging & Strategic Ministries

ARRIVAL TIME

  • We will begin promptly at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 16
  • Plan your arrival time with some cushion - so that you are able to get checked in and settled before we begin
  • To provide greatest arrival flexibility, our check in stations will be open on Friday morning beginning at 10:00 am. Feel free to arrive early, check in, find a spot in the assembly hall – and then venture back out to enjoy lunch in town. Ministry partners will be setting up their tables that morning - so also a great time to have a chat with them - crowd free!
  • On Saturday, we begin at 9:00 am - the convention center doors will be open at 8:00 am.
