Children + Youth + Families

Each ministry site should review their policies and procedures to ensure the safety of minors and other vulnerable poplulations in their settings. While the synod does not have a policy for congregations, the following steps are encouraged as you explore best practices:

• Review your insurance company's requirements and any resources they provide
• Create policy and procedures for keeping minors and other vulnerable people safe that is in alignment with your insurance requuirements and your ministry setting
• Implement these policies and procedures, including background checks
• Regular reviews of policy and procedures
• Regular training of leaders
