Journeying Together
there is a place for you

The Northwest Washington Synod of the ELCA is the people of the107 congregations, synod-authorized worshiping communties, and ministry sites in the Greater Puget Sound territory - reaching from the Canadian border south to Kent - and from the Cascade foothills into the Islands of the Salish Sea.

Trusting in the Spirit, we are journeying together with God’s people so that all may discover and participate in what God is doing among us through Jesus.

We are a Reconciling in Christ community - our council and leadership of the Northwest Washington Synod affirm that all people are beloved children of God.  We welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, abilities, races, nationalities, economic statuses, and backgrounds, to join in the life of our community. We welcome all because God welcomes all, and we recognize that our differences are gifts to our communal life. Learn more here.

We acknowledge the original inhabitants of this area, the Coast Salish people. Since time immemorial, they have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these lands. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and honor their sacred spiritual connection with the land and water. We will strive to be honest about our past mistakes and bring about a future that includes their people, stories, and voices to form a more just and equitable society.
